A fine pair of salad servers - French 1st standard silver & probably cow horn; c. 1870-80. Post-1838 marks. Aesthetic Movement. In associated presentation case. Spoon: 11" d., 1 7/8" w., 1/2" h. These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver salad servers have an oval rounded bowl onto an elongated stem. The anterior and reverse surface of each piece is plain and unembellished; the heel of each piece is embellished with a circular rivet. The bowl of the serving fork incorporates five-shaped tines. These exceptional examples of silver flatware are fitted with impressive green colored cut glass handles with a hobnail style ornamentation to the bulbous handpiece.
