A exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George III English sterling silver sauce tureens with ladles; an addition to our Georgian silverware collection These exceptional antique George III sterling silver sauce tureens have a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval spreading pedestal foot to a collet rim. The body of each tureen is encompassed with an applied girdle above a contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms displaying an escutcheon party per pale of a cross engrailed and a lion rampant, encompassed with fabric swaps and suspended tassels. The rim of each antique tureen is encompassed with an applied gadroon decorated border. These impressive sterling silver Georgian tureens retain the original hallmarked push fit covers, surmounted with an impressive reed decorated handle enveloped with chased decorated leaf designs to the terminals. The surface of each cover is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting an armoured knight armed mounted on a horse salient holding in his dexter hand a sword above his head. Each tureen is fitted with two loop handles embellished with a chased decorated leaf design to the lower portion. A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver soup tureen; an addition to our silver dining collection This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver soup tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval domed spreading foot. The surface of this piece is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest of on a chapeau turned up a lion rampant supporting an arrow palewise feathered and headed to one side. This antique silver soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, surmounted with the original hallmarked detachable shaped scrolling handle with acanthus leaf decoration. The antique silver soup tureen is fitted with thread decorated loop handles with acanthus leaf terminals. Condition This antique silver soup tureen is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. This piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body have wear in keeping with age and location, but all remain legible.
