English Sterling Silver Brandy Carafe Label with Dionysus

About the Item

Mid 20th century English silver hanging label for a brandy bottle or decanter. Shown with the head of Dionysus, the ancient Greek god of the grape-harvest, wine making and wine, surrounded by grape leaves and clusters of grapes. Beautifully cast in the 17th century Baroque style. Hallmarked Birmingham, 1953. Turner & Simpson, maker. 17 grams with chain. Great Father's Day gift.
