About the Item

An impressive Set of 4 George V Sterling Silver Stacking Beakers in the style of a set from the reign of Charles II (from 1660). This Set up cups features 4 straight sided beakers each with an applied band in on the body and standing on a spread pedestal foot. One Beaker that makes up the base of the stack is taller then the other three and the set is capped with a lid embellished with an impressive knopped finial. This set is modelled after the original set designed for for the Nicolas Tufton, 3rd Earl of Thanet (1631-1679) in London 1664 currently in the collection of Harvard's Fogg Museum and Art Gallery.
