Fairfax sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Durgin (part of Gorham) in Concord, New Hampshire, ca 1920. Faceted with rectilinear body and raised foot, and helmet mouth. Scroll-bracket handle. A desirable piece in the classic Art Deco pattern. Fully marked including Durgin and Gorham stamps, retailer’s stamp (JE Caldwell), volume (4 pts), and pattern name and no. 40. Weight: 24 troy ounces.
