A fine pair of grape shears. By William Dematteo (or de Matteo). In cast sterling silver. With heavy gauge handles with grapes, vines, and comic (or bacchanalian) faces. Purchased at Colonial Williamsburg. Retaining the original box and paper insert detailings William de Matteo's work in James Geddy's workshop. Hallmarked to the blade. Simply a wonderful pair of grape shears! Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There is some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
