Antique English crystal match striker with sterling silver rim by John Grinsell & Sons . Good antique condition with some small signs of age and use, a few small chips to the glass and a few dents in the silver rim. Marked JG&S with the anchor lion and a for 1900 sterling Silver, assayed in Birmingham in the year 1910.

This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian silver inkstand / desk standish, has a rectangular form. This inkstand is fitted with a gallery, embellished with impressive pierced and applied scrolling foliate ornamentation. The shaped, incurved rims of the body and anterior rim of the sterling silver inkstand are ornamented with a paralleling applied gadroon decorated border.
