An exceptional, fdine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver and ceramic match striker; an addition to our ornamental collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling and ceramic match striker has a globular form. The surface of the ceramic body is embellished with a hand painted details reflecting the crystalline formation of hardstone. The upper portion of this antique match striker retains the original, plain hallmarked sterling silver mount. This impressive sterling silver piece was crafted by the silversmiths Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd. By virtue of its size and weight, this versatile match striker could be utilised as a paperweight. Condition: This antique match striker mount is an very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The ceramic body is in perfect condition. This impressive Victorian example has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount are clear in keeping with age and location.
