An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver spirit kettle on stand; an addition to our antique silver teaware collection
This exceptional antique George V sterling silver spirit kettle has a tapering oil can shaped form, in the Classic Victorian style.
The upper portion of this silver spirit kettle is embellished with exceptional bright cut engraved stylized leaf designs accented with suspended fruit and floral baskets incorporating leaf sprays.
Each basket is flanked with a bright cut engraved swallow style bird design and is conjoined with swag decoration, incorporating a vacant oval cartouche to either side.
The lower portion of the body is encompassed with an bright cut engraved interlacing back accented with tri-lozenge shaped motifs.
The upper rim of the kettle is embellished with applied bead decorated border.
This antique silver spirit kettle on stand is fitted with a flush hinged hallmarked cover encircled with a further bright cut engraved stylized leaf border; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.
The cover is surmounted with the original sterling silver topped fluted oval finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.
This fine example of antique teaware is fitted with an impressive hallmarked sterling silver handle ornamented with impressive bright cut engraved leaf decoration, in addition to impressive leaf decorated sockets in junction with the body.
The kettle detaches from the original hallmarked sterling silver stand, supported by four impressive cast scrolling legs, each terminating with a lobed leaf style foot.
The stand is further encompassed with an applied bead decorated border to the rim.
The stand incorporates a plain scrolling frame which retains the original hallmarked detachable spirit burner.
The spirit kettle stand is fitted with the original chains and hallmarked security pegs.
Condition
This antique George V silver spirit kettle is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition in keeping with age.
The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the kettle, in addition to the part hallmarks to the spirit burner, Stand, security pegs and interior of the kettle cover are all very clear.

This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver spirit kettle has a six paneled urn shaped form onto a hexagonal paneled spreading pedestal foot.
The surface to this large spirit kettle is embellished with exceptional bright cut engraved foliate festoons incorporating quatrefoil leaf motifs and suspended from rosette designs to each edge.
The decoration to the body incorporates two oval cartouches, one of which remains vacant.
The cartouche to the anterior surface is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of an antelope's head couped, charged on the neck with four mullets in cross, and holding in the mouth a rose, slipped and leaved, displayed below the motto 'Nil extra numerum'- Nothing is beyond reckoning up*.
The upper portion of the kettle is embellished with bands of bright cut engraved undulating borders paralleling the shape of the shoulders.

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III English sterling silver teapot with spirit burner made by John Cope Folkard; an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection.
This exceptional antique George III English sterling silver teapot has an octagonal panelled, pear shaped form.
The lower bulbous portion of the body is embellished with an incurved shaped segment displaying fine chased floral sprays, alternating to each panel.
The anterior panel incorporates an impressive chased decorated scroll bordered cartouche displaying the contemporary engraved crest of a hawk.
The swept upper portion of the teapot features eight further chased decorated panels depicting a single floral head amidst foliate designs.
This exceptional Georgian teapot is fitted with the original hallmarked hinged domed cover, surmounted with the original cast sterling silver finial.
Each panel of the cover is ornamented with further matte incurved segments, accented with a suspended flower head, emanating from the leaf designs to the upper portion.
This exceptional antique teapot is fitted with the original carved pear wood C shaped handle, with a plain scrolling thumbpiece.
This impressive handle is fitted to two octagonal sockets, accented with panels of matte decoration.
The teapot is fitted with an impressive cast sterling silver finial accented with segmented paralleling matte panels to the sides, and a simplified leaf design to the lip.
