Particular feature: Most probably one-off production / special design in original casket, manufactured 1906 = there is a metal plaque attached to casket's lid with referring date. Additionally, initial letters CF topped by grand ducal crown are visible there: For this reason it can be assumed that ordering customer was an aristocratic member of Habsburg Imperial Court. Stunning Silver 800 Austrian / Viennese centrepiece with original glass liner, made during last quarter of the 19th century. Hallmarked: Viennese Official Silver Stamp = Diana's Head Mark with A for Vienna as it was used for Silver 800 as from the year 1867. Manufactured circa 1880-1890. Made by: Silver Manufactory Karl Wuerbel & Vincenz Czokally (firm sign visible at reverse side of bowl and at edge of foot = a pot with crossed items above), situated in Vienna, 7th district (firm founded circa 1860) / Karl Wuerbel - one of the owners - was Citizen of Vienna, further he was in possession of the Golden Cross of Merit with Crown and member of the Viennese Arts & Crafts Association. - Vinzenz Czokally was active in period 1864-1896. Further the characters V.M.S (= Vinzenz Mayer & Sons) and related mark are visible at edge of foot, too = these are the signs of further silversmith working on it or having distributed it: Firm Vinzenz Mayer & Sons was jeweller in the centre of Vienna (1st district) as well as Purveyor to the Imperial Court. The firm was one of the most important jewellers in 19th century having manufactured medals.
