Sterling, date marked 1808, by David Egan, Dublin, Ireland. These elegant Georgian sauce boats are perfect for any décor, modern or antique. Especially wonderful, they are Irish sterling made in Dublin in 1808 by David Egan. Excellent condition. Remarks: "Irish sterling of the Georgian period is especially lovely." SIZE: 8 inches length by 4 1/8 inches wide by 5 inches high WEIGHT: 9.90 ozt and 10.30 ozt = 20.2 ozt HALLMARKS: King's Head Duty Mark, Irish Harp Crowned which is the Dublin assay mark for Sterling, Hibernia duty symbol for Ireland, Date Letter M in a cartouche for 1808, DE in an oval cartouche which is the maker's mark for David Egan, and C&W possibly a retailer's mark or an apprentice's mark.
