Pair of Neoclassical-Style Tall Sterling Silver Corinthian Column Candlesticks
About the Item
Pair of Edwardian Period, tall, Neoclassical-Style, sterling silver Corinthian column candlesticks, Sheffield, England, year-hallmarked for 1906, James Dixon and Sons - makers. Each candlestick measures 11 inches tall x 4 1/2 wide (at widest point across base) x 4 1/2 inches deep (at deepest point across base). A portion of the base of each is covered in felt (see photos). Each candlestick is weighted. Stepped-up base is designed with leaves and garlands on all four sides. The borders of the base of each candlestick is beaded. This beaded motif is continued on each removable bobeche. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In excellent antique condition.
