Pair of Scottish George III Silver Salvers, Edinburgh 1818, McVicar Crest

A pair of Scottish George III sterling silver salvers by John McKay, Edinburgh, 1818. The salvers are of plain circular form with a reeded rim, on three paw feet, with the McVicar crested coat-of-arms. The hallmarks are located to the reverse with the makers mark JMc (John McKay), Edinburgh assay mark, and date letter 'm' for 1818. Assay: - .925 (Sterling Silver). Period: - 1818. Engraving: - McVicar Family crest / coat of arms. Maker: - John McKay. Measurement: - The salvers measure approximately 2.6cm (height) x 17.9cm (diameter). Weight: - 587.4 grams / 18.88 troy ounces (combined approximate weight). Condition: - The salvers are in good antique condition. The usual surface scratches, pitting to the reverse, and marks associated with silver of this age. There are no dents, splits, or repairs to the salvers. Overall in very nice condition.
