About the Item

A fine set of 6 antique American silver teaspoons. In coin silver. By Joseph Shoemaker, a American silversmith who was active in Philadelphia ca. 1793 - 1829. Each with oval bowls with broad drops, chamfered shoulders, and fiddle handles with a short back midrib. Monogrammed to each of the handles in cursive script for for 'P.S.B.' Simply a wonderful set of antique American coin silver teaspooons! Date: Early 19th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Ebay Category: There are light dings and indentions (mostly particularly to the bowls), some light bends, some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Joseph Shoemaker Marks: Marked to the reverse of the handles with a rectangle maker's mark either J. Shoemaker or Shoemaker Fineness: Unmarked for silver fineness.
