Austrian finest Biedermeier silver pair of candlesticks made 1846   Very interesting Viennese silver pair of candlesticks of excellent manufacturing quality as well as of elegant appearance: Each of these candlesticks has surface which is decorated with wavy lines. Additionally, they are based on square-shaped as well as scalloped foot (the base is hollow at reverse side, not filled!). The candlesticks' stalk has bulgings at two areas / additionally, they have elegant grommets of overhanging type.    Made 1846 (Viennese Biedermeier period) HALLMARKED SILVER 812.5 (SILVER 13 LOT): branded by so-said Viennese Radl Punze - dated 1846 (well visible) Master's characters existing: 'Schiffer' It is Franz Schiffer: The silversmith had been born in 1800 in Essen (Germany) and died 1854 in Vienna. He received right of manufacturing in year 1827 / a bit later - in year 1832 - he became master. Schiffer's name is mentioned in guild's lists in period as from 1833 until 1854. He was assigned 'Gold-and Silversmith of Imperial Viennese Court' in year 1846.
