Sterling Silver Rocco Platter

About the Item

Being offered is sterling silver oblong platter by William Durgin Silver. An exceptional example of Rocco style, this antique piece has a rich and elaborate design along the fluted edge. Silver pieces designed in the Rocco style featured natural motifs, particular emphasis was put on the shells and flowing wave-like lines. In this case they wave-like lines complement the scalloped rim and fluted edge. In the center there is a hand engraved Old English letter B.
