Silver condiment stand, Walker Knowles & Co., Sheffield, 1858
About the Item
Description
Queen Victoria sterling silver condiment stand, Walker Knowles & Co., Sheffield, 1858. This beautiful sterling silver condiment stand is a fine example of Victorian craftsmanship made by Walker Knowles & Co. in Sheffield in 1858. The object features an elaborate structure with a round base, decorated with neoclassical chiseled details, floral motifs, and an elegant pearl border. It is supported by four ornamental feet that add stability and sophistication. The set includes a mustard jar and six cut crystal bottles, finely crafted with geometric decorations and matching silver caps. Some caps have holes for dispensing spices or powders, while others are closed for liquids such as oils and vinegars. A decorative handle with an elegant openwork oval stands out in the center of the frame, making it easy to carry and adding a regal touch to the piece. Irrelevant spoon.
