Delightfully playful 19th Century silver plate wine coaster by J. Sherwood & Sons, Birmingham. C. 1880. The coaster is in the form of a chariot, pierced with latticework and stylised branches of grapes and trailing foliate. The chariot with makers mark J.S&S the crowned leopard, the beaver and the letter A to the base.
