About the Item
24 fish plates and serving dishes from the famous Waechtersbach German manufacture and designed the. great Albin Müller in 1906.
Glazed earthenware with a cream background colour and the decor is in a combination of gray and pink or taupe. There is a superb relief on the contour of the plates and dishes and refined design of fish heads and fins on all pieces.
This design was created by Albin Müller, renowned artist part of the Darmstadt Artist Colony. Part of the dinner service dates from then and part of it from the 1960’s when it was edited again by Waechtersbach Manufacture.
The set is composed of 29 pieces dating from the early XXth century and the 1960's when it was edited once again. It comprises the following
twelve large and twelve small plates in good condition in the shape of a flat fish; four serving dishes of various shapes and sizes, one large round dish, one medium long (one small chip), one deep dish (with a small chip), a fish soup dish with lid which can also be used to serve vegetables or any soup, and one sauce boat particularly funky with the fish being upside down (one crack).
All pieces are marked: with impressed blind marks and numbers for the early XXth century pieces production and the West Germany marks and impressed numbers for the pieces produced in the 1960’s.
A rare find this dinner makes a beautiful table decoration and can also be uded for other dishes than fish for a decor with a twist.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Some marks of the time in the crackle glaze and a few small accidents on 3 of the serving dishes but the set remains in good condition for its age and use. This little chips can easily be restored by a professional at a small cost.
