About the Item
Product Description:
These espresso cups are part of the famous Valencia series consisting of cups, saucers, plates, tureens, cutting boards and more. The Valencia series is famous for its midnight blue color and arabic looking design (the city of Valencia was ruled by Moors in the middle ages).
Ulla Procope was responsable for a whole series of famous designs at Arabia. Ulla, who died young at an age of 47, was the designer of the posthumously released Ruska-series. Starting her career as a potter at the Arabia factory in 1948 she moved to the design department in 1951 at the invitation of Kaj Franck.
Besides the nice look of these cups they are also very nice to drink from. The same way in which wine tastes better if you drink it from a thin glass, the coffee you drink will taste better if you have it from these delicate lightweight cups.
