Arthur Stone Sterling Silver Flatware Set Service 95 Pieces Handmade Wickstrom

About the Item

Arthur J. Stone (1847-1938) was a leading silversmith from Gardner, Massachusetts. He was trained and worked in Sheffield, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland prior to coming to the U.S. in 1884. He was one of the last silversmiths in America to train apprentices to carry out designs in hand wrought silver. Today, Stone is widely recognized as America's foremost Arts and Crafts silversmith. Rare Arthur Stone handmade sterling silver flatware set, 95 pieces. These pieces bear the "W" stamp for the craftsman Alfred Wickstrom, 1912-1914. This set includes: 12 Dinner Knives, 9 3/8" 12 Dinner Forks, 7 5/8" 12 Luncheon/Dessert Forks, 7 1/8" 12 Salad Forks, 6 5/8" 11 Teaspoons, 6 1/4" 12 Place Soup Spoons, 7 3/4" 12 Flat Handle Butter Spreaders, 5 1/2" 12 Gumbo Soup Spoons, 6 5/8" Includes bonus brand new storage chest - styles vary. Very good condition, with no monograms. There are a few minor dents on the knife handles (does not detract).
