An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver mustard pot made by Edward & John Barnard; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced interlacing scrolling leaf designs. The upper and lower rim of this sterling mustard pot is ornamented with an applied bead decorated border. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive interlacing tri-lobed thumbpiece. This antique piece is fitted with an opposing scroll handle ornamented with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of cover are all very clear; the maker's mark to the interior of the cover have wear in keeping with age. An exceptional, fine and impressive, unusual antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty mustard pot; an addition to our 19th century silver condiments collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has an oval shaped form on to a circular spreading foot, modelled in the form of a period coal scuttle or flower basket. The lower portion of the body is embellished with undulating fluted ornamentation. The upper portion of the body is embellished with a wide incurved band of scrolling leaf decoration accented with a floral motif to each spiralling terminal, all on a matte background. This sterling silver mustard pot is fitted with impressive two hallmarked hinged covers embellished with scrolling leaf and floral motifs on a matte background. This exceptional example of antique silverware has a central ribbed handle. The stepped circular spreading foot is encircled with a band of leaf and circular motif decoration.
