Erik Sjodahl Sterling Silver Salt & Pepper Shakers

About the Item

A pair of sterling silver salt & pepper shakers with hand-hammered surface from 1977, designed by Erik Sjodahl Andersen for V. Holmstrup of Copenhagen, Denmark. The tops of the shakers are removable for easy filling. Additional information: Material: Sterling silver Hallmarks: “V.HOLMSTRUP SJODAHL.A STERLING DENMARK 925S 77”. The “77” mark is the production year, 1977. The salt shaker is also marked “1”, the pepper shaker “2”, denoting that these were the 1st and 2nd examples ever made. Dimensions: Each shaker measures 3 3/8″ (8.5cm) in height, they are oval and measure 1 3/8″ x 1 1/4″ (3.4cm x 3.1cm). Condition: Excellent vintage condition

These antique condiment shakers are embellished with embossed and chased decoration reproducing the details of the pigs' skin and anatomical features.
