LE TALLEC - Chinese Circus -22 demitasse cups and saucers -Tiffany & Co. pattern

About the Item

Rare 22 demitasse cups and saucers set in the "Chinese Circus" pattern made by Camille Le Tallec. Hand painted (signatures under the cups and the saucers with the letter date "P/v" for 1973/1974) Model taken over by Tiffany & Co. in the 2000s for its famous series "Private Stock". This particular set was specialy produced for "Puiforcat" Paris. Writen under the cups/saucers: "Dessiné et peint entièrement à la main par Le Tallec à Paris spécialement pour Puiforcat" The Chinese Circus pattern is an exquisite pattern with intricate, colorful and lovely scenes. The pattern is made in a "chinoiserie" style which evokes scenes from 18th century China. The Chinese Circus, in particular, features fanciful 18th-century depictions of Chinese circus performers with structures, trees and flowers. Camille Le Tallec's workshop operated independently from 1930 to 1990 when it was acquired by Tiffany & Co. During its long history, it created porcelain tableware for Kings and Queens like the Queen Elizabeth II and Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II of Morocco. These types of pieces are now sold at Christie's or Sotheby's These pieces are no longer produced. The saucers measures 4.6 in (11.7cm) in diameter. The cups measures 2.16 in (5.5 cm) in diameter and 2.24 in (5.7cm) high. Very good condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or repairs. Shipping wordwide with insurance. Professionnal packaging.
