About the Item

Prince’s Custom Wedding China Set Lenox Crafted 1996 Created for one of the most iconic figures in music history, this rare Lenox china set was custom-designed by Prince for his 1996 wedding to Mayte Garcia. Held on Valentine’s Day in Minneapolis, the ceremony was highly celebrated, and this five-piece dinner set is a treasure from that moment. The china displays Prince’s own design, fusing his legendary Love Symbol with the letter “M” for Mayte, encircled by a stylized piano keyboard border and finished with elegant gold trim. Each item reflects Prince’s creativity, flair for symbolism and the deep bond he shared with Mayte. This porcelain set of five is comprised of a dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, tea cup and saucer. Produced by Lenox, the most prestigious American maker of fine tableware for much of the 20th century, this set carries both cultural and historical weight. Lenox was the first American porcelain used in the White House, with several services commissioned for U.S. presidents. This five-piece set is accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Mayte Garcia. Georgian Coconut Cup
Located in New Orleans, LA
This intriguing sterling silver cup features the shell of a coconut mounted into exquisite silver. A sublime example of elegant Georgian design, the cup features delicate scalloped edging as its singular motif. It is extraordinary to find such a beautiful example of this lost art, exhibiting a rare combination of classical beauty and exotic charm. The use of rare and exotic materials such as the coconut became popular across Europe during the Middle Ages, when it was believed that these unique materials from distant lands possessed mystical powers. It was held that they could detect, and even deter, the effects of poison and as such were employed as drinking vessels, often mounted with ornate embellishments of silver. As more trade routes opened up during the 16th century, materials such as the coconut became more widely available, though still only afforded to the wealthy minority in Europe and England. And, while they eventually lost their appeal for their magical powers, coconuts proved an ideal material for cups and pots and retained their popularity as such. Very similar silver-mounted coconut cups...
