Set of 12 Rogers Lunt & Bowlen Boston Arts & Crafts Dessert Cups & Saucers

About the Item

Set of 12 Rogers, Lunt & Bowlen beautifully hand-hammered dessert cups, lined with Lenox porcelain liners with gold rims, and saucers from the early 20th century, made in Greenfield, MA, in Arts & Crafts style. The cups measure 5 1/3'' from handle to handle (4'' excluding the handles) by 2 1/8'' in height including the liner while the diameter of the saucer is 4 1/3''. Total weight is 59 troy ounces. Hallmarks and a monogram are shown. Lunt Silversmiths was an American manufacturer of fine sterling, silver-plate and stainless steel flatware, hollowware, and giftware established in 1902. In 1902, George C. Lunt, an engraver in the A .F. Towle & Son company, bought the business and renamed it Rogers, Lunt and Bowlen Co. In 1935, the name was changed to Lunt Silversmiths. Lunt's Embassy Scroll pattern was chosen by the United States government as its official tableware in all U.S. embassies and consulates around the world. In 2009, the company sold its name and inventory to Reed & Barton. Lunt’s works are present in the collections of many prestigious museum collections, including those of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and Historic New England. Please feel free to ask us any questions, and please see our other listings. NO published price will beat ours.
