About the Item

A delightful solid silver mid century mustard pot in the form of an owl, made in Spain c. 1930. The owl is beautifully modelled and in lovely condition, with the hinge in good working order and the lid closing perfectly. In his mouth he holds a spoon with a ropetwist design handle whose terminal is in the shape of a snail. The owl bears Spanish solid silver marks to the underside of the feet (the mark of the individual maker is illegible). He has vivid green eyes with some light wear to the colouring, to be expected given the age. He is a joyful little creature with lovely character.
