Spode 'Butterfly' Pattern Dessert Service, 14 Pieces, Dated 1954 A fine vintage Spode dessert service in the 'Butterfly' pattern (Y7378), dating from 1954. The service is decorated with butterflies amidst grasses and foliage, with a fluted border and gilded rim. Comprising 14 pieces: • 12 dessert plates, each approximately 9¼ inches diameter • 2 footed comports Each piece with factory backstamp Spode Copeland China England, impressed date mark, and hand-painted pattern number. Condition: Very good overall. Gilding clean, minor wear commensurate with age.

Description and Design The design is a masterful blend of influences, centered around a vibrant floral pattern inspired by Chinese Export famille rose porcelain.
