Sprig Decorated Set of Large Soup Dishes Made in England circa 1880

$1,600per set

About

We are pleased to offer this lovely set of eight dishes decorated in the "Sprig" Pattern. These beautiful soup dishes have vibrant enameled colors in a design of two wreaths with lush green leaves and sprigs of cornflowers. In the center of each dish is a single larger sprig. The blue and red flowers are enhanced by the green leaves and the lavish gilding throughout. Made by Minton in England circa 1880, these dishes are a fine example of a pattern which began in the 18th century, and was the favorite porcelain pattern of the Queen of France, Marie Antoinette.             Dimensions: 9.75" diameter  Condition: Excellent    Price for the set: $1600
