Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning original circa 1870 Indian Repoussé Colonial Solid Silver tea service attributed to Oomersi Mawji & Son’s depicting very rare Elephant finials
What a find! This set is absolutely sublime, the Repousse work is first class, made during the English colonization of India for the export market, it is 100% Indian solid silver, each piece has the coat of arms shield and initials of the family who brought it back from their campaign
The service is quite rare as it has elephant finials which I love, it is super elegant and honestly a wonderful conversation starter
Condition wise, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there and I wouldn’t suggest using it as an actual tea service, this is more for decoration
