Antique Sterling Silver Teapot

An exceptional, fine and impressive 19th Century antique George IV English sterling silver teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional, fine and impressive antique George IV sterling silver teapot has a compressed pumpkin shaped form. The upper portion of the incurved body is embellished with chased foliate decoration, accented with a floral design to each intersection. The body of the teapot is further ornamented with the contemporary engraved coat of arms, incorporating to the first portion a cross patonce. This antique George IV teapot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover, ornamented with a continuation of incurved ornamentation from the pumpkin shaped body. The teapot retains the original, large cast sterling silver gourd and foliate finial, securing to the interior with a screw fitment. This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive sterling silver C shaped handle with an exceptional scrolling leaf decorated thumbpiece and sockets, in addition to further layered foliate designs to the handpiece. The teapot is fitted with a fine and impressive swan necked spout, embellished to the lower portion and lip with further chased leaf designs. This 19th century teapot in sterling silver is supported by four bracket style feet, embellished with impressive scroll and leaf designs. This exceptional teapot was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith Charles Fox II. Condition This antique 19th century silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The teapot has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The chased and cast decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of George IV silverware. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George IV English sterling silver gilt grape shears - boxed; an addition to our silver flatware collection. This exceptional pair of antique cast sterling silver gilt grape shears has a hinged scissor action. The handles of these antique silver grape scissors are embellished with intertwining fruiting vine ornamentation, accented with grape clusters and foliage. The fingerpieces are ornamented with details reproducing the features of the natural vine. The circular hinged portion is surmounted with a lobed rosette design. The grape shears are fitted with plain and unembellished blades, with a rounded outer edge. These exceptional examples of 19th century silverware retain the original gilding. These impressive sterling silver grape shears are fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior, securing with a push fit catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Reid & Sons, Diamond Merchants, By Appointment to the Late Queen Victorian, Newcastle upon Tyne'. These exceptional antique George IV grape shears are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire. The initials within the maker's marks, in addition to the standardisation of the surround could pertain to a multitude of antique silversmiths; these silversmiths include William Eaton, Esterbrook and Eley II. Condition These antique boxed grape scissors are a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast decoration is all very sharp and the gilding is in excellent condition; this indicates the pieces have seen little to no use. Full hallmarks struck across the interior of the blades are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
