About the Item
a fine circa 1899 Athenic motif sterling silver and ivory six (6) piece tea and coffeeset with kettle on stand by Gorham, of Providence, RI, the background hand hammered, comprising coffee pot, teapot, sugar bowl with cover, cream pitcher, waste bowl, kettle on stand with burner, the the art nouveau taste, the pieces all similarly chased, each with a a spray of a different flower along the top rims, the kettle, teapot, coffee pot and creamer with ivory handles. The handles are also carved with flowers.
Height of kettle to top of handle 14 inches tall. Total weight 224 ozs. Engraved 'JGWP' script monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. Other than some natural age cracks to handles, in excellent condition. (IVORY HANDLES FROM 1899 MAKE UP LESS THAN 5% OF MASS OF SILVER SET.)
