Denmark 'Flamestone' coffee or tea pot, four demitasses, four mugs, and eight saucers (four small / four larger) by Jens H. Quistgaard for Dansk Designs, circa 1958-1964. Features the Flamestone signature slate, almost brown glazed-earthenware with striated pattern and white porcelain interior (pitcher has a green tinge to the porcelain interior). Elegant, attractive set with only one fleck to the rim of one of the mugs (very minor and easy to miss -- see photos 15 and 16 for closeups). Early, Danish production, as indicated by the markings and rough exterior (a smooth version was introduced in 1964). Art Deco armoire with sycamore veneer and mahogany interior with brass medallion/locking mechanism and hardware by André Domin and Marcel Genevrière for Maison Dominique (Paris, France, ca. 1930s). Impressive, museum-quality piece, refinished roughly a decade ago in Paris using the correct French Polishing technique of the creation period. Heavy doors open to reveal eight removable (but non-adjustable) shelves supported by threaded brass brackets. The weight of the doors requires the unit to be wall mounted. There are holes original to the piece in the top back corners for this purpose. There is veneer loss to the top back corner of the cabinet, which was previously repaired and cannot be seen at eye level, and a spot of veneer loss to bottom corner of one of the doors, along with light wear/nicks to the front and a couple of gashes and small holes to the inside of the doors (all relatively minor, given its age). Art Deco ashtray stand, smoke stand, smoke standing ashtray, floor ashtray, cocktail smoker stand. An ashtray on a stand made from chromed metal and bakelite. Made in the 1930s by the Belgian Company Demeyere. Is also stamped in the ashtray. The chrome and bakelite are still in very beautiful condition.
