Vintage English Britannia plate coffee pot by James Dixon & Sons, 1920

About the Item

Edwardian Britannia plate coffee pot with a square carved ebonized wood handle in the Georgian taste. The pot has a reeded concave, oval hinged lid with a reel turned ebonized wood finial. The narrow bowed body has a reeded lower half including the lower half of the spout. Stamped on the underside: 5, EP, JD&S (followed by a trumpet stamp), 4639 Sheffield, England, after 1920.

  • Condition:
    There is a small vertical line depression on one side of the upper half of the body of the pot, and a dent in one of the reeds on the side of the pot. Some areas of silver loss. Wear commensurate with age and use.
