Crafted in the United States circa 1950 by the renowned Gorham Manufacturing Company. Model Y1045, the vessel is executed in silver over bronze and features a classical gadrooned rim above a smooth, rounded body adorned with sculptural rococo shell-form handles. The thick-walled construction and warm undertones suggest a solid bronze core beneath the silverplate, a hallmark of Gorham’s higher-end barware from the period.
Measuring approximately 11.5 inches wide by 10 inches high, this substantial cooler is ideal for chilling champagne, wine, or as a decorative centerpiece. The underside bears the Gorham hallmark with the lion, anchor, and "G" symbols, as well as the model number. In excellent vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age, this refined vessel reflects both the quality and timeless style of mid-century American silvercraft.
