Heavy Oceanic Papua New Guinea or African Carved Wood Mask

A wonderfully carved, heavy tribal mask. The mask is from the collection of famed American writer Gore Vidal who was an avid collector of tribal masks and artifacts. It was listed as being from Papua New Guinea but could be from another region. Clearly it is an unusual work, quite heavy with protruding horns. Would be a great addition to any tribal mask collection or engaging stand-alone accent piece. Dimensions: 11" high, 9" wide, 7" deep.
