About the Item
From a series of masks and heads, "Sharp is the Action" is a tabletop sculpture inspired by the masks and heads made throughout Oceania. Landing in the nebulous zone between ceremony and mar?al inspira?on like the masks that inspired it, this piece is an armor to the world around it with the aggressive texture and warring front face. Simultaneously it displays surprise from the humanity around by a slight shi! in visage. Something of a playful complacency in a suggested face is looking back at it all with the decora?on on the rear. Made from a heavily grogged high-fire stoneware, the construc?on of this sculpture is wheel-thrown and altered, fired in a cone 10 reduction.
