About the Item

This is an elaborate tramp art display case with glass front and sides. It has multiple carved spires, two "steps" up to the door, and is decorated with carved stars, fans, and medallions. The inside is lined with floral-patterned gold foil in the back and heavy textured paper on the floor. It is finished in a medium lacquer or varnish. From the late 1800's or early 1900's, the condition is excellent. There is some loss to the foil inside, and a tight crack on one side above the window. The scrape on the back is from before the piece was finished. There is a hole on the back for hanging, or it will sit on a shelf. It stands 23" high by 7 1/2" wide by 6 3/4" deep.
