About the Item
Navajo turquoise & sterling silver squash blossom necklace, early-mid 20th century. A massive & impressive piece using superb Morenci turquoise stones with grand scale najo derived from Spanish bridles, in turn influenced by the Moors of North Africa. The matrix in each stone is perfection from this renowned mine. Old work purchased in 1974 from Harrisburg, PA specialists in "antique & Indian jewelry" (bill of sale available to buyer). 8.95 troy oz. 277 grams.
