19th Century Carved Wooden Ship Shadowbox with Lighthouse and Cottage

About

A 19th century nautical shadowbox with hand carved ship in stormy seas on a lee shore. The model has carved wooden sails, fully carved hull in black paint, set on molded frothy rough seas. The painted background features a lighthouse and cottage on a dark headland, with blue cloudy skies above and ahead. Beautiful naïve work one seeks in sailor's folk art, in fine condition. Mounted in original gilded frame. Dimensions: 15.5 high x 25.75 wide x 6.75 deep.
