19th Century English Framed Decalomania Découpage & Watercolor Farm Art Picture

About the Item

An original British School Decalomania decorative art watercolor and cut paper farm scene mounted in a heavy black wood frame, circa 1860. These were largely created by young girls from English aristocratic families during the late Georgian to the early Victorian periods as an educational pastime. The farm scene is made of cut and découpaged scrap paper on a hand painted background. Labor intensive and very detailed, this charming and unusual piece would look at home in a kitchen, hall or nursery. Still bright in color. The frame has a wood backing. Measures: Framed 12.5 in. L x 10.5 in. W x .75 in H The expected wear to the original frame.
