He loves to paint sky, adobe structures, and trees. He also travels throughout the country giving workshops. His heritage is Russian Jewish and Polish. In 1916, his father emigrated from the Ukraine to New York where he met his Polish wife. Trained in New York City and Paris, Albert attended the Art Students League for three and a half years, and his most influential teacher was Frank Mason. He discovered his great love was painting outdoors, especially old woods and streams in the Catskill Mountains. A 1980 trip to Santa Fe was life-changing, and he moved there in the mid-80s, trading the subject matter of dark woods for brilliant colored landscape.
