About the Item

An original on paper by Jack Hooper 'Red Line Through' professionally framed, black painted wood frame and glass. About Jack Hooper Born in Los Angeles in 1928, Hooper was an American painter, muralist, sculptor, printmaker and art educator. As a young artist he was drawn to the vibrant scene of Mexico and "The American College South of the Border." His time in Mexico City during the early 1950's, was a period of intense artistic and political dynamism for Hooper; influenced by the fathers of Mexican Muralism (Rivera, Orozco, and Siqueiros). Hooper return to California in 1956 and continued his studies at University of California, Los Angeles.
