Carved USWV Lodge Pedestal Podiums Folk Art American Flag and Clasped Hands
About the Item
Fantastic pair of ceremonial lodge pedestals from United Spanish War Veterans lodge in Toledo, Ohio. One with a very well carved and three dimensional American Flag marked Patriotism. The other has carved and clasped hands marked Friendship and Freedom. There is a brass stamped tag showing "made by L.G. Dear for Egbert Camp No. 10 Toledo Ohio USWV." It is stamped 1960, but the pedestals appear to be made much earlier in the 20th century.
Egbert Camp was a local organization in Toledo serving United Spanish War Veterans who served in the armed forces between 1898 and 1902. Egbert Camp was in existence from 1901 to 1972 in Toledo.
