About the Item

This fine Pennsylvania red and green handwoven coverlet with the original fringe is signed : " DAVID WEAND L.S.ALFORD , MONTGOMERY County 1845 " and retains the original fringe. These coverlets are so rare to find in such pristine condition. It has the original fringe on all three sides and has a center seem where it was hand-sewn together. The red is very sharp and the olive green is very rich color. You can find these coverlets at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk art center Williamsburg, Virgina.
