This exclusive decorative oval shield attributable to Leonard Morel-Ladeuil (c. 1867) boasts minutely carved scenes from Paradise Lost by John Milton. Rich in minute details and emphasized by a surface patina for an optimized balance between lights and shadows, it depicts different scenes, from the exile of Lucifer from Paradise to the Archangel Rafael informing Adam and Eve about it.
