Old 4 foot high naive and stylized carving of two people from 1 slab of wood

About the Item

This is a 4 foot high naive and stylized carving of two people. It is roughly but expressively carved from a single slab of wood, mounted on a custom made metal base. It has a dark finish, probably paint. A knot hole in the wood passes through the smaller figure's shoulder. The carving is 48" tall by 19" wide by about 2 1/2" deep; as mounted it stands 50" tall. The condition is good with some tight age cracks and some old loss to the feet - part of which happened before the carving was finished. The age is unknown, but it is definitely old.
