About the Item
Scandinavian folk art mangle board, hand carved oak with traditional designs. Carved wooden horse was used as handle for pressing linen.
Mangle boards were given as a wedding gift from the groom to the bride. The suitor would hang the board on the door of his beloved's home as a marriage proposal.
