Early Papua New Guinea painted Maprik carved wood mask with long curved tongue. Mid-20th century, ex Michael Hamson, CA with label on back. Classic Maprik colors with faded polychrome pigments with yellow, white, black and red. Mask is 16 inches high, on custom wood base total height 17 1/2 inches.
