Magical Barbara Antelope Mask Mirrors Seeds Cowries Mali, Africa ex Willis

About the Item

Early carved wood antelope mask, with many horns, applied glass mirrors, cowries and seeds. Old native repair to one horn. It is in good condition wear and erosion from traditional use, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Scuffs and nicks here and there. Age, wear and staining inside. Old metal repair to inside top of mask. Early to mid 20th century, ex private collection, CA, acquired from James Willis, San Francisco, CA 2001.
